The Journey Begins
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Kenzal (K
for short). This blog is to chronicle my journey with CrossFit, a constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement
strength, conditioning, and fitness program. Specifically, I have started training at CrossFit ICONZ in Snellville, GA.
So far, I have done my Foundations (3 days of an introduction to CrossFit, going over the basic movements) and a few WODs. Most of the posts you will find on this blog will be about the WOD, with either a picture of the whiteboard (where the WOD is recorded) or a description, or both. You will also find out what I’m eating, with occasional links to my general blog, Soot Happens, where I post, among many other things, recipes for the things I cook.
I am on this journey, because, at the time of writing this, I am over 300lbs and am in dire need to get fit. I am also planning to compete in a Highland Games this upcoming Labor Day, and while I am not yet specifically training for that at this time, many of the things I am doing with CrossFit match the movements used in the Games, and so I am prepping for that while I work out. I need to get in shape, CrossFit is part of how I plan to do it, and here is where I plan to track my progress.
